Casper Gelderblom

Casper Gelderblom (1995) is alderman for Housing, Environment and Circularity in Heerlen. He previously studied political philosophy in Cambridge, obtained a master's degree in European History and Civilization from the universities of Leiden, Oxford and Paris, and did doctoral research in political and social sciences at the European University Institute in Italy. Among other things, he was initiator of the broad regional civil society Alliance for Energy Justice at the time of the energy crisis, and regional chief negotiator in discussions with the government on the creation of a Limburg mining compensation scheme.
